My boss was lovely enough to give me a complimentary pass to the Qantas Lounge for this trip so before heading off I'm sitting here enjoying a champagne breakfast. The pancakes are delicious! I was a tad nervous this morning (about what I have no idea) but after chilling out in here for a while I'm feeling a lot more relaxed (perhaps its the 'hair of the dog' champagne. )
The lounge itself is ok. It's not the fancy one they show on the website (that's the first class one which looks spectacular and even has a day spa!) but it's a lot more comfortable than hanging out in the public areas. The food is plentiful and refreshed regularly. The service staff inside are lovely (a marked improvement on the surly guy that is supposed to greet you as you enter!) The free wifi (comes up as Telstra not qantas on your device) whilst it takes a little while to connect, once connected is great. Speedy and no dropouts. I also managed to get a seat next to a couple of outlets too so I can fully charge everything up before I board. - handy when I've spent 2 hours playing games, face booking and surfing the net!) There are more kids in here than I expected but the parents all seem to obey the signs to keep them supervised at all times. So it's fairly quiet and peaceful sitting by the window in a comfy chair watching planes take off into a gorgeous Sydney blue summer sky and knowing I will soon be doing the same. Oops here come those butterflies again! Time for another champers. Next stop Buenos Aires!!!
