This guy is a martyr, who was in charge of 1 wooden ship left to protect the port when it was attacked by the Peruvian and Bolivian navy's (with metal ships). Instead of taking evasive action, e decided to ram one of their ships, and march onto it yelling defiantly where he was promptly shot and killed. The rest of the Chilean navy was then wiped out. Apparently this act of bravery (??? some may call it stupidity) so inspired the Chilean people that they rose up, banded together and won the war and Prat is now a hero
