Yet another beachy day. I spent the first hour on the beach and the rest of the day in the pool though, reading my kindle. I finished one book in a couple of hours so I'm already on my next one!
At 3ish I went to find the others who were having a drink in the shade and using Keith's laptop for Skype, and had an Iced Tea. I'm so glad they sell it here, I'm addicted!
We came back and booked our boat to Koh Pagnan for the full moon party tomorrow, showered and got ready quite early because we had planned to go to Sairee, another resort, for some dinner and to watch sunset. We missed sunset because we faffed around and lost Vicky, who turned out to be 20ft away from us the whole time! We had planned to rent bicycles to get to Sairee, but decided that it wasn't very practical as we were wearing dresses (apart from Keith), so we tried to get a taxi. They totally overcharge here though so we decided to walk the 2 and a half miles to the resort!
After the hour's walk we were starving, so we went to an Australian bar called Chopper's. The Thai part of the menu was half price, so I had a Massaman curry, which had chicken, coconut, sweet potato and peanuts in - it was so yummy. We also had a couple of daiquiris as they were 2 for 1.
After dinner we had planned to go to Lotus bar which we had heard was good, bur today is a national holiday in Thailand (Buddha day) so it was closed. We wandered around some stalls for a bit and then decided to get a taxi back as we didn't want to do the walk again. They were trying to charge us £10 for the trip! You wouldn't even pay that much at home for a 2 mile trip! In the end we could only barter it down by 100 baht to 400 baht (£8), by saying I was a child (12 years old, and he believed me). £8 is still ridiculous here for such a short trip.
In bed now, getting an early night so I can be on form for the full moon party tomorrow!
