I didn't get loads of sleep because we had to pack and check out of our room by 10am. We couldn't go to our new room until 2pm which was inconvenient, so we just waited in the tv area. I sat by the pool for a bit but it started to rain.
At 2pm we got the keys to our new room - it is much the same as the last one but with no balcony and an extra bed. We met a guy from Manchester who has his laptop with him and lots of films on it, so the three of us squeezed into my bed and watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. After the film and a bit of a nap, we went down for dinner. The only vegetarian option was broccoli soup, so I had that and ordered some chips and gravy for $4, although on its arrival I realised I wasn't that hungry.
We went for a walk to Woolworths where I bought a new razor for $6.99 - I left my handle in Vietnam so have been shaving with just the blade! We also bought a big bag of choc chip cookies, before heading back to the hostel to watch a film on Liam's laptop with our cookies. We sat on Hannah's bed, along with a Danish guy from our room, and watched Get Him to the Greek with Russell Brand.
I can tell why this room is cheaper - the bass from the club downstairs is shaking the whole room! I have my earplugs in but it isn't really helping.
I know it sounds like we're not doing a lot - we're not! The rain is so frequent and so heavy that sunbathing by the Lagoon is out of the question, and a lot of the trips are cancelled, so watching films and eating cookies is our only option really.
Fingers crossed we'll make it to Townsville tomorrow, although it seems doubtful. I'm going to try and get some sleep in my shaking bed now, listening to 'I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, saying wheeeeyo baby let's go' and other such chart hits. It sounds like a good night tbh - think we're missing out!
