We had a lie in on Royal Wedding day until about 11am (this meant that Vicky got 15 hours sleep!) before strolling into town.
We found an amazing pyjama shop in which we wanted to buy everything. I bought some pj bottoms with kittens on them which I'm going to save until I get home to wear - all of our clothes are disgusting from wearing them so much and not being able to do laundry often! Cannot wait to have some different clothes to choose from.
Afterwards we caught the gondola up to the top of Bob's Peak, which overlooks Queenstown. The views from the top are incredible, of the town, mountains and huge blue lake. Unfortunately as I'm writing my blog on a computer and not my phone, I can't upload one of my photos of the view.
Hannah, Vicky and I had bought tickets for two rides on the luge, so Sophie sat in the cafe whilst we headed to the chairlift to take us even further up the mountain to the luge. We had to wear helmets. The luge thingies were like little go karts with handlebars. Our first ride had to be on the 'scenic' track, and then we could ride the 'advanced' track. It was like being a kid again - so fun! We bought our picture at the end, but didn't have enough money so the nice guy gave it to us for $8 instead of $12 as it was all we had!
We then took the gondola back down again and went to the campervan to watch What Happens in Vegas, a film we had rented. Earlier in the day we had failed on our mission to find scones and clotted cream, so after the film we headed to town and bought ourselves a Fergburger (I got mine with bacon this time) and some cheap champers and took them back to the campervan to watch the Royal Wedding - we got the BBC coverage which was great.
The wedding was so lovely, I actually cried a bit. Loved the dress and the music and all of the pomp and ceremony - it made me miss England! Good job I'm coming home next week!
