We caught the boat from Phi Phi to Krabi at 9am this morning before getting a minibus to the airport.
We got to the airport at 11.30am and we couldn't check in until 12.30pm so we found a seat and wrote some postcards, read, wrote journals etc. It was nice to be in a clean, air conditioned place!
At 12.30pm we checked in and went through security to wait. We pooled together our last few Thai baht and bought some Thai pot noodles.
Our flight took off slightly early, it was with Air Asia who are like the Asian version of Easyjet. There were a lot of clouds so the turbulence was quite bad at some points, but the flight was only an hour so it wasn't too bad.
It felt like a luxury to hop on a one hour flight rather than getting on a 15 hour coach!
In Kuala Lumpur we bought a bus ticket to KL Sentral (yes it is spelt like that) for 8 ringgit (£1.60). Once we were on the slightly rickety bus, Vix got off to run and buy some water. Before she was back the bus started to pull away so I ran to the front and shouted 'STOP!' to which the driver replied 'yes ok!' and carried on driving. I eventually got the message through to him and Vix returned so we could start the journey. There were an English family from Lichfield on board, and Vix was next to the eight year old son - he was so sweet with his strong Brummie accent. I usually can't stand the accent (sorry to any Brummies who may be reading) but he sounded cute pointing out all of the sights and chatting to Vick. Our bus overheated and started making a funny noise about 15 minutes into the journey so we had to stop for a while and wait for it to cool down. The driver didn't seem very fazed by it so
I guess it happens to him a lot - time for a new bus maybe!? There was also a huge thunderstorm which started suddenly on the way, with fork lightening and loud thunder - I'm glad it wasn't while we were flying!
At KL Sentral, which is the main transport hub, we jumped on a monorail one stop (20p) to Chinatown. Luckily we found a nice place to stay straight away, it has free tea and coffee, breakfast, wifi, sofas, a TV with English Sky and carpets - I have missed carpets! We are sharing a bunk bed between three for around £9 each for two nights.
We are getting a train to Singapore in two days time and wanted to get our ticket in advance, but it didn't cross our minds to get them at KL Sentral, so I got changed and freshened up and went back on the monorail on my own to buy them. We got second class tickets for 34RM (£6.80) each which is a lot cheaper than we were expecting!
It was nice to be independent - I would have been too scared to do that when we first started travelling so I have definitely become more confident in foreign places.
When I got back we headed out to buy some food, but got very sidetracked by the hundreds and hundreds of stalls selling realistic fakes of handbags, sunglasses, purses, watches, and pretty much anything else you can think of. I basically have no choice but to shop tomorrow and send some stuff home from Singapore! I am hoping to find a nice Mulberry Bayswater or a Chloe handbag. We eventually ate at around 10pm in the market, our meals were about £1.50 for a dish and a drink.
We are back in the guesthouse now.
There is a nice, chilled out atmosphere here, it feels quite homely. Looking forward to seeing the city tomorrow so should probably get to sleep!

Emily Haha you will find many things are spelt strangely in KL, when they didn't have a word for it they used the English but changed it so it made sense to the Malaysian alphabet aka Sentral! I hope you enjoyed Malaysia :-)
