Hi everyone!!

 This is my first attempt at blogging!  We`re currently sat in an internet cafe in a place called Cuenca in south Ecuador.  We`re hoping to move onto Peru in the morning! 

After our first stop in Quito, we took a 3.5hr bus ride to a place called Banos!  Banos is a really nice little town surrounded by huge mountains, (although today I discovered the word "Bano" also means toilet in Spanish).  As you`ve probably seen from the photos, we went canyoning!!  That was soooo much fun!  The two guides, Pablo and Jose were cool!  They used us as guinea pigs to test this zipline they`d just rigged up... We weren`t complaining!!!  The only problem was that we were much heavier than the two Ecuadorian guys and ended up boucing off the waterfalls!  We then had to trek through the jungle in pumps and wetsuits.  As you can imagine I was bitten to death!!!!!!!!! We went out dancing that night after having a bottle of rum that cost us the equivalent of 1.50 pound!  We also had a thermal bath in Banos.  Basically we were put in a wooden box with our heads sticking out and left to steam, then we were plunged into freezing cold water repeatedly... great fun(!)

After Banos, we took another bus ride to Riobamba.  We had planned to get the train from Riobamba to here, but you can`t ride on the roof anymore and so we took the cheap option of yet another bus through the mountains.  It was amazing the way it took us above the clouds!

Anyway, I think thats it for now!  (I think Phil mentioned the equator in the last blog).  The next blog will be coming from Peru!!!!
