Hello Everybody, Just a quick message to let everyone know that we arrived in one piece and that we are safe and sound. Staying in a hotel near Khao San Road which is where all the smelly backpackers congregate. Bangkok is pretty manic but we are already learning the fine art of deflecting the advances of tuk-tuk drivers and scam-merchants! I don't think our palid complexions and constant map checking help much - can't wait to get a tan - it's a definate form of camoflage. Today we went to visit the Grand Palace which is a complex with loads of amazing temples - they are proper bling with loads of gold leaf and sparkly bits! We've just eaten a fantastic dinner of pad thai which cost us the princely sum of 25p and we are about to go for a well earned drink (it's been a hard day). We plan to spend a couple more days in Bangkok, then make our way to Koh Samet (island) where we will hopefully hook up with Paul's cousin and start working on that tan. - From then on...who knows - We are finding it quite strange to get used to the fact that we don't actually have to do anything at anytime - very strange (in a good way).
