The water pump had a bad leak and I offered to replace the seal kit. It looked pretty straight foward. But I did not reckon on how hot it was down there next to a straight 8cyl Gardener diesel. After 3 hours I finally realised that the kit was inadeqiate as a replacement and I then had to reassemble the pump until a new one could be sent from Cairns 900 kms away.
