Well after four brilliant and fun filled weeks on the east coast, we are here in Melbourne. We are now certified divers after completing our four day open water in Cairns and had some great dives on the reef. We spent two days in the classroom and in the pool, then we went out on the reef for 2 days (up at 6 every morning) and were tested on all our skills. We had to go as far down as 18 metres which is the max for an open water diver, take our masks off, take out our regulators (breathing aparatus) so it was hard work but we also got to see some amazing corals, fish and turtles alas no sharks! We have been in Melbourne for 4 days now and are staying in a luxury apartment with our mate Rich in the posh part of town so we are milking that for all its worth. Generally we are just eating him out of house and home, cooking hot curries , playing loud music and watching lots of MTV..just like home!! We havn't upset any of the neighbours yet though! My cousin Sinead is flying in from Brisbane today so I am going to go meet her shortly and tomorrow all three of us hire a car and set out to do the Great Ocean road for 2 days...! We are really excited about that so will have some scenic Melbourne pics up on the web shortly. We love Melbourne its really trendy, with lots of great bars, places to eat, art galleries etc and its sooo clean! We only have until Monday in MB and then we fly to Sydney courtsey of Virgin Blue for 40 dollars each, beats chugging along in a crusty Greyhound bus for 12 hours for 70 dollars each i'm sure you'll agree!! We have two days in Sydney before we fly to Christchurch New Zealand, it will be sad leaving Oz as we have had the most fantastic time here but NZ will be a blast too, us two adrenaline junkies are going to jump out of planes, do a bunjee, go white water rafting and lots more, can't wait!
