Expensive or what! I'd forgotten how pricey this Asian country was, especially in relation to our last destinations. We'd decided to book a place online for Singapore and we're glad we had, going by the size of the city. Most accommodation on our travels we hunt for when we arrive rather than booking ahead because it tends to be a lot cheaper. £11 for a 16 bed dorm bed I guess wasn't too bad considering we got all day breakfast included too... And we sure did make the most of it! Toast and jam and cornflakes for every meal!
Highlight of Singapore was the zoo! A beautiful home to so many animals. Huge enclosures and plenty of things to keep the animals occupied. Bryn had an orangutan T-shirt on that he bought in Malacca and the big alpha male orangutan at the zoo had a special bond with him which he talked about ALL day!
Another exciting part of Singapore was finally getting to buy a cooking stove! Smiles all round despite paying the same price as a trangia in England. Really looking forward to cooking our first meal on it soon. Next mission is finding some paraffin for it!
We got the underground over to sentosa island on the last day to see marina bay and Chinatown before the bright lights and business of the city got the better of us and we headed back to the hostel for movie night.
An exiting new country tomorrow... Indonesia!
