Kristianopel was a delightful tiny harbour and we loved it but we had to be in Kalmar early this afternoon.
We managed to get away just before 0900 today setting off into a still sunny and warm morning. We managed a sail to the first mark but then turning more directly downwind it was too slow so we motored for an hour.
The southerly breeze filled in, we turned the engine off sailing with main and cruising chute for the remaining three hours taking down the chute a tad late as true wind speeds approached 17knots making it a bit of a struggle.
It was a great sail, one of the best with speeds up to 9.3kn and lasting well up the route. We arrived in Kalmar and struggled with a cross wind on a stern buoy mooring but eventually tied up comfortably with lots of help from the earlier arrivals.
