Hi everyone. We're now back in LA - sorry we haven't had internet access in Yuma at all. We had a good trip from Anaheim to Yuma and travelled via Palm Springs where we sent up the Tramway to the top of the mountain. The view was spectacular although a bit hazy. As we travelled further south we came across the Salton Sea which is an inland sea formed when the Colorado River flooded some years ago and filled up a valley which is below sea level and the water can't flow away. Apparently the water is very salty because of the below sea level thing!!!! It's a huge area of water and looks amazing in the middle of the desert. It's very windy in that area though so don't fancy skiing on all of the waves though. The area is probably twice to three times as big as Somerset. Yuma was nice. We stayed in an RV Park and managed to get the remainder of the parts we have been chasing for the motorhome and finished off all of the maintenance we wanted to do before we parked it up again and left there about 2pm today and drove to LA and out to Santa Monica. We went for a walk out along the Pier tonight and had dinner at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. which was something different. We'll go out onto the Pier again in the morning and have a walk along the beach before we pack up and start getting organized for the flight home. Our mobile is in full operation again if anyone wants to make a last minute call to us at all. I'll check the website for messages or emails again before we leave also. We arrive at Brisbane airport at 6.10am if you can't sleep and want to meet up there!!!! Look forward to catching up with everyone. Take care. Love to all. Pam & Noel
