We left Ashburton and headed for Wanaka. On route we stopped at Lake Tekapo for a coffee break and a look at the Church which stands by the lake (see photo). We spent the morning in Wellington, walking around the quayside and doing some shopping. In the afternoon,we caught the ferry to Picton then drove south down the coast to Kaikoura. We left Opotiki (much to Mum's relief) then drove to Gisbourne. We had a quick look at the Captain Cook statue then carried on driving towards Napier. Once at Napier, Andrew went off in search of a golf course whilst Mum and I walked around the town looking at the Art Deco buildings. After a huge dinner, it was time for an early night.
