Hello all ,

I have not written a blog yet because the first few days were very intense. The flight went well but it was one hell of a journey. 7 hours to Dubai, 3 waiting for our transfer and 5 hours on to Sri lanka. During our transfer, Charlie said 'I suppose it would have made sense to get the earlier transfer so we didn't have to wait as long but I thought we'd need more time.' Luckily for Charlie I was too tired to get very mad about this.

During the first flight Charlie felt a little air sick, which was a shame because the food was delicious especially the chocolate, brownie mousse. Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to take Charlie's. The aircraft was a double decker and first class looked especially luxurious. I watched three films; gifted ( boring and predictable), Berlin Syndrome ( Stockholm syndrome but in berlin...v. Scary) and beauty and the beast. I'm going to try and watch Lion and LaLaLand when I go home. Charlie watched one film.... Star Wars... Which I'm pretty sure we have on dvd.

Just when Im writing this a monkey has come and sat near me, scratched his head and nuts and walked off... It was majestic.

I slept through the next flight but woke up for dinner which was ok but the dessert was not as good and I kept thinking about Charlie's chocolate mousse. It was a good job we ate as much as we did as it would be some time before we got a good meal again.

When we arrived we got a taxi to our first accommodation. We were very tired so we skipped dinner and went to bed shattered.
