So my round the world trip has come to an end, I'm not sad that it is over, I am truly grateful that it happened. This trip has been so much more than I expected. It is going to be strange not living a life where crystal clear water, exciting cultures and adrenaline filled challenges are the norm. This has been the most life changing experience. To the people that I spent 3 weeks in America with, days in Fiji with, 3 weeks in New Zealand with, 6 weeks in Australia with, volunteering with and to the people that I just spent a day with, You have all left a lasting impression and print on my heart. Thanks for helping me grow and experience the world. I hope to see you all again somewhere sometime. Ever since I can remember I have wanted to explore the world and I chose to do this at a time when I was free and able to wake up everyday and live my dreams. For me my dream became reality, so now it is time to close this incredible unforgettable chapter in my life and begin a new one. If anyone is thinking of travelling, go and do it, it will be everything you hoped for and more.
I have learnt that travelling the world is so much more than visiting famous monuments, landmarks and seeing the most beautiful landscapes. It's about the people that you meet along the way, the stories that you hear, the knowledge that you gain. It's about learning to live by yourself, being out of your comfort zone and really getting to know yourself, understanding what makes you tick and realising your insecurities. Travelling isn't one big holiday, it's a personal challenge and an opportunity to accept yourself just the way you are.
Whilst being away I have lost people and animals at home which has shown me just how precious life is. Everyday we must wake up and be grateful for the life we have been given, you can have a good day everyday if you have the right mindset. 17seconds of positive thinking can change your entire day.
Being away has made me realise how fortunate i am to have the family that I have. We have the best relationship, one that I now realise is unique and not to be taken for granted.
I am so excited for my future, I'm looking forward to being back with my friends and family for good, I'm looking forward to sharing birthdays, weddings and summer days with everyone and I am so excited to become a teacher and hopefully share my knowledge and passion for life with children who have come from not so nice backgrounds.
Life is a blessing and I aim to make the most out of it.
I have camped all over America, I have swam with manta rays in Fiji, I have completed the Nevis bungy jump in New Zealand, I have worked on a farm and sailed the Whitsunday's in Australia, I have taken a cooking lesson and washed elephants in rivers in Thailand and I have volunteered at a school in Cambodia, now let's go home!
