Virupaksha Temple
The Virupaksha Temple is the main surviving temple of the area, in use from about the 7th century onwards. The main structure is about 120 ft high on the eastern entrance. The temple is used now, dedicated to Virupaksha, an aspect of Shiva and his consort Pampa, a local deity.
