Foster's Tour
Ok ok my bad im sorry. Im sill here.
Am in Melbourne at the mo but will have to fill you in on Bali first.
I flew in and arrived late in the night but had pre booked a hotel back in england and a hotel transfer, which i was v-pleased about. The next morning i had breakfast and went on the internet to see where Kristina and Jen were. Got and email from them saying that the would meet me near a bar in Sanur (i was in Kuta) at 11am. It was now 10:15 so i legged it back to the hotel picked up my bags and flagged down a taxi. The trip wasn't very long about 20-30 mins and cost a massive 4 pound !! eventually having dragged my 96kg backs around Sanur i found the bar and sat and waited for the girls. When they arrived i asked them where they were staying so i could drop the bags off, they told me that they were staying back in Kuta and had only come out for the day........ brilliant !!!! we wanted to go jet skiing and enjoy the day at the beach so i couldn't really drag my bags around the beach all day. So i had to take my bags all the way back to Kuta, check into the new hotel and then go back to Sanur. By the time i had got back and we had eaten and looked around it was too late to go jet skiing so we did what seamed right, we sat and got drunk ! well what else was there to do ??. We later got a bus back to Kuta and went out for the night.
The next day was Jen and Kristina's last in bali, and Kristina had stayed out a little tooooo long (8am she got back in after sleeping outside the door) She was hanging the next day i have never seen any one so rough. Kristina had planned to go bunji jumping but that soon changed. after they had put all there stuff in my room and checked out, we went shopping...again, Bali has to be the cheapest place i have been yet, i bought a bucket load of dvd's for 40p each, i bought 20 of them haha and cd's are 80p each, drinks are cheep, clothes are cheep everything is cheep. Its also where all the ozzy's come 4 holiday and its all about surfers, everyone is tall blond tanned and surfers, so i stuck out like a sore thumb. after shopping Kristina went back to bed and me and Jen tried again to go Jet skiing but once at the beach we were told that they don't do it in Kuta and it was now too late again to go somewhere else. Once back at the hotel we got chatting to one of the guys from Bali that worked at the hotel called Kadek and he said that if i wanted he had the following day off and he would take me somewhere to jet ski and some other spots worth seeing in Bali. So the next morning i got up at 9 had beaki and met Kadek at 10 and i set off on the back of his 1000000mph motorbike. For the first 15min i held on to the bike so hard i think my fingers started to bend the metal. The traffic there is all bikes and they drive like they cant see each other. Once you get used to it your fine and you notice that apart from being mad they are all good drivers. He first took me to a place near Denpasar called Nusa Dua where all the rich honeymooners go lots of rich Japanise and Ozzy's, his friends ran the place so i got a goo discount on jet skiing and wake boarding (snow boarding on water) The jet skiing was awesome but i sucked at wake boarding. After some thing to eat we set off to a place called Dream land. This place is no joke, my word !!! its just been found by the building contractors but the locals have known about it for years, Kadek said that i was lucky to visit as in another year it will of started to be built on. (will put the pics on soon) The beach at dream land is small and stunning, and again its all about the surf. We spent a while there talking to some ozzy's and swimming then headed over to a place back towards Kuta, Kadek said was the best fish resturant in Bali. Looking at the price of things he was prob right but again he managed to get a good discount. The view was stunning and apparently the honeymooners come to eat all along the beachfront and watch the sunset (again check the pics soon). After that headed back to Kuta and had an early night watching a couple of dvd's (sad i know).
The next day i had arranged to go do the same again, so headed back to Nusa Dua did more jet skiing and this time went water skiing, i was much better at this as i can ski but it wrecked the arms. Then again set of to dream land. Once there Kadek went off to look for a friend so i went for a swim as i had seen the waves getting bigger and bigger (biggest ive ever seen) and like an idiot thought it would be a good idea to go swim/surf in them. Just as i got out deep'ish i saw a perfect storm style wave started to swim up it when it broke over my head.............. for the first few second i had no idea where i was i got pushed and pulled all over the place, then when it finally settled i tried to swim up, but then the under current came back and pulled me back down again, at this point i smashed my big toe (its broken) on the rocks which made me panick (cant spell) beacuse i new that i had just hit the bottom and was no where near the surface, i tried swimming up again and half of me came round to the fact that i was about to die and gave in because i had absolutely no air left, this is no joke i honestly thought i was dead, scared me for life. as im typing this you can prob guess that i just managed to reach the surface in time catch air, just as another god dam (sorry aj) wave hit me but this one was mild and pushed me back towards the beach, i walked out the sea like nothing had happened doing my best to look cool and happy past all the other sunbathers and surf people....then collapsed on the chair and started to cough and splutter.
Later that night i went to go see the Bali ground zero where the first bombing had gone off. its really nice but makes you feel a little un-easy as there have been 2 more since, early night again as my toe was killing and wasnt up for much walking or dancing. Next day was check out day so did some shopping (but didnt buy any thing) Bali on the whole is stunning but because of the recent bombings the poverty is hard to miss, the locals told me that its the quietest its ever been and you have people literaly dragging you into their shop to buy things or offering you transport, you really cant get away form it. But dont let that put you off going as it is stunning and when they arnt begging the locals are the nicest people ive met so far.
So onto Oz. I arrived at Melbourne (a little colder than i had expected), Paul was late picking me up but i'll let him off as i was 15 min early and it was 6:00am and he had to travel an hour to get there. We got back home about 7:00am ish and Chan was up because of 5 week old baby Khian (like ryan but with a k) who is stunning. He has Chantell's eyes but Paul's ears !! being lads we sat down to play fifa on the xbox at 8:00am and didn't finish till 5 in the afternoon, no joke we didn't even stop for lunch.
Have not done a great deal since being here which has been nice. It makes a change from rushing around trying to see everything a city or island has to offer in 5 days. We have spent a few nights round a friends houses, been to the cinema to see M:I 5 (which is well worth seeing) been bowling with other friends. I have been to see some old family friends Anna and Alex and will be spending a few days with them later this week which will be nice and obviously i've been shopping. A couple of nights back myself, Paul, Blacky (Chris black, Kasey's fella for those that know) and some of his other friends all went out for a night out in Frankston after a couple of bars inc one very dodge bar called Robin Hood (shocking place, felt very out of place) we ended up in a very lively student style club, but we where all plastered. Paul was awesomely drunk. We tried to dance but as we didn't know the music we looked a bit stupid so gave that in as a bad job, and left. Had some world class fish and chips and took a taxi home. We later found out that Blacky spent the rest of the night being very ill in the back garden haha neither me or Paul were too happy the next day.
And that's about it so far, just spend most days at Paul's or in the city (Melbourne) or shopping for a new car for Paul and Chan, and nights are spent watching a film with friends round or going to other people house for Tea. I have another week here b4 I set of on a 3 day trip to Adalade. I have also joined a football team that Paul plays for Called .......... Baxter haha just like Ron Burgundys dog in anchorman brill. Any way we train Tues night and play Sunday, there not great but its good to get back playing. We played a local team this sun and won 7-4 but I had to play central midfield but again its just good to play.
Again sorry for the delay and the length of this.
