Hi All well time for a update, New Zealand as been great after travelling all the North Island I waited for my mate Mandy to Arrive In Auckland and after flying down to Wellington and taking the ferry over to Picton we hired a car, Was so Nice we drove to a place called Nelson and just chilled by the beach and did some swimming after that we drove on to Marlborough Sounds where Mandy made me hire a bike for the day and ride the sounds this was great fun beutifull scenery although my legs were not gret on the bike riding but I got through it and managed to enjoy the day.
After there it was on to Kaikoura were we went out on the boat and swam with the dolphins and oh what a experience there was over 200 - 300 dolphins in the water and we jumped in and swam with them six times it was oh so GREAT one of the most speacial highlights of the trip. After there it was back in the car and a drive across to head for the west coast of the South Island where there was also so much to see we visited Franz Joseph Glacier also Foxs Glacier these were also so amazing to see the scenery here as just been so breathtaking. We then drove on down to Doubtfull sounds which was supposed to also be a great experience although it was pissing it down with rain we had a hike booked for 3 days that Mandy had been so excited about doing for days I on the other hand was not so keen so after finally hiring all the wet weather gear and some thermal underwear we set of for our adventure..... Well after 2 hours we wanted to give up and return but I managed to convince Mandy that we must press on and reach the top of the mountain and see the sounds although because the weather was so bad and the cloud was so low we actually saw nothing. So after a night at the hut up in the sounds we decided the next day we would walk on back to were we started we decided even if we carried on to the end for another 2 days we would not see much more things. We hated every minute of the trek back but it was great for our friendship we really got to know each other better and bonded.
After that we decided we would head on out of the sounds and try and find some better weather. So it was on with the driving down along the beutifull west coast. We visited a place called lake Wanaka WOW this was so nice to see the lake was massive and the mountains stunning we stayed here one night camping on the lake and had a good few beers.
After Wanaka it was on down to Queenstown fealt at home here a Queen in Queenstown lol although this place was a lot busier than Wanaka it was still a cool place to hang out with lots to see and do. After there it was on down to Duneden by the time we reached Duneden we had done a fair few KMs around the south Island. Duneden was a great city and we got to drive out to the peninsula and see the amazing Albatross birds these were another WOW such big birds with a huge wing span.
Mandy treated me to the movies here as we had some bad weather so we watched Slum Dog Millionare what a great film and I really related to this after spending so long myself in India.
Well Mandy left Duneden and it was back on to Queenstown for me so I picked a guy up from Duneden who was after a lift so would make the journey go quicker for me.
After a few days relaxing and taking it easy after the fast pace of Mandy being here I then headed here to Christchurch where I have not been doing much just wondering round the city.
Tommorow I fly to Australia Brisbane YAYYYYYY I am v excited about that finally I get to be in my second home and see all my mates its gonna be brill.
After 8 weeks there I will be going back to Thailand to spend some well deserved time with my v special guy there.
Well thats a update for you all as you can see its been full on hectic traveling time I am ready for a rest in Australia although I have just found out its the Sydney Mardi Gras this weekend ... Mmmmmm should I catch a flight down there or would my mate in Brissi thats waited so long to see me Kill me.. I think the answer is yes so although very tempting I will prob stay in Brisbane...
Well I will update you with Pics soon when I get to a pc at my mates and have time to put them all on be prepared to be blown away with some great scenary...
