Yo yo, We now find ourselves in Lima for the last day about to join the tour group for t'Inca Trail (we've decided the rest of the group will be comprised entirely of package-holiday-Americans in silly hats who speak no Spanish). The day we last left you we moved onto Trujillo where we'd be spending the night, only to again find that there were only late buses and that we'd have to spend a whole day there. Lo again, We're currently stuck in Piura in northern Perú waiting for a bus onto Trujillo from where we can get a bus to Huaraz. Lots of waiting around, not much fun. We left Cuenca a day early as there didn't seem much else to do there, except for seeing Evan Almighty (dubbed in Spanish) and buying a crappy (but cheap) panama hat. Lo all, us again. We're now in Cuenca (which is shut for the day) after a few days in Quito and Riobamba. Quito was, on the whole, a lot of fun. Far too many Americans, but you get that everywhere. Yo yo yo, Long time no blog. Today we arrived (accidentally) in Quito, capital of Ecuador after a second spell in Colombia. The day after the last post we found that the Teleférico in Mérida (the longest and highest cable car in the world) was closed indefinitely for maintenance and the record breaking ice-cream shop was closed for October. b*****. That left us pretty much nowt to do there except to go to what is apparently the best bar in Venezuela. ...

Lo, We now find ourselves in our last city in Venezuela, Mérida, before we pop back across the border into Colombia in a couple of days. After we last posted (I think) we had a lovely meal in a restaurant where the owner insisted on putting on The Beatles for our benefit, all evening. The next day we hunted down a bus to Parque Nacional Tayrona, which covers a large area of Colombia's Caribbean coast. On the way through to the beach (apparently the best in...
