Getting ready to head to the airport for yet another adventure in Sydney, New South Wales. These last couple of days have been great! We first went snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. What a sight! Unfortunately, the ride there was a bit wavy, and when I say wavy, I mean nauseating! People were falling and getting sick left and right. Lucky for the 7 of us none of us got sick, came close but not sick! We ventured close to 38 miles out into the Pacific Ocean. We docked on a platform where Arlena, Ma, Mrs. G, Katie, and I snorkelled with the many wonders of fish and coral. The sun came out, thank goodness and we had a wonderful time. The water was cool and refreshing.
The next day we woke at 7:30 and made our way to the Kuranda train station. We took a scenic route where we saw the Great Baron falls and the life-size mountain ranges. Once the train ride was finished, we were in for a treat! Katie and Mrs. G cuddled with their first Koala, Kip. After that we took ride on WWII army ducks. These ducks were used back in WWII to move throughout land and water. We were surrounded by the beautiful rainforest of greener than green plants and trees.
We received a little taste of Aboringal culture where we learned how to throw a boomerang, listened to a didgeridoo, and watched a Dreamtime dance performance. As our day continued, we walked through the wildlife park to see more kangaroos, koalas, and crocs! The largest crocodile was named Jack and he was 1500 lbs! Now that is some meat! For our final event of the day we had the opportunity to travel on the skyrail. It was a 4.7 mile long stretch of pure scenic views. Above the treetops, we were able to see the rainforest and waterfalls from a birds eye-view and boy was it beautiful.
Now after a very busy couple of days we are going to head to Sydney. Hopefully we are able to climb the Sydney Harbour bridge!
Until Next Time,
