After leaving Rotorua we drove to Lake Taupo where Jak threw himself out of a plane at 15,000 feet in a tandem skydive. Apparently you can see both coasts from that height but Jak said he was too disorientated to even think to look down during the 60 second freefall - understandable really considering he was travelling at over 200km a second. Rotorua is a really cool little town. It took us a few hours to drive here from Auckland because we stopped off at the town of Paerora to pose with the giant Lemon & Paerora drink bottle and for lunch at the farm where some of the Lord of the Rings was filmed. Jak proposed! He got down on one knee as we were walking along the beach in Fiji and pulled out a ring. I said yes of course (actually I said 'are you serious? really?? you're proposing?? are you serious?' etc for about 5 minutes first but ultimately I said yes once I got over the surprise).
