I am in Amman Jordan right now, biding my time until my flight which leaves at the unreasonable hour of midngiht! I spent the last three days in Petra and Wadi Rum, which were amazing! I think that Wadi RUm was my favorite, partly becuase the landscapes were so lovely and partly becuase there were so many less tourists swarming around and generally being irratating. I will add photos of these things later. The hole I was staying in had the most annoying schiester of an owner! Ugh! But it was the cheapest place I could get so I was "trapped." He was constanly trying to rope me into expensive toursit activities and tours that I am positive he recieved a commission for, becuase he could not have been pushier! So, needless to say, I was so happy to be rid of him and his non-stop "deals" that he tried to sell me on! Besides that , I had an amazing time in Wadi Rum, touring through the desert and in Petra hiking through these amazing ruins! It's also nice to be in a big city where I can be a little more anonymous and not be this obvious dollar sign walking down the street. I'm pretty sad to be gong home right now, I just had lunch at this little shwarma restaraunt that was owned by a Palestinian man who wouldn['t let me pay for my lunch after he found out that I was volunteering in Palestine, we had some great conversation though. He is from Jerusalem, but has been forced to leave since Israelis occupied the city and he is unable to return to visit his friends and family there. Did you know that 70% of people living in Jordan are Palestinian refugees? I am really going to miss it in Palestine, well I already am missing it actually...
