Two days and three aeroplanes later, I have made it to Biarritz, a seaside European tourist hotspot that is like when Byron Bay meets Europe. Stretched out along the surf with typical French architecture and history that includes original Roman bridges.
This is not the beginnings of my pilgrimage, more of a plonking spot to catch up on two days of sleep... and what a waste to be in such a scenic place to do it in! But that's the marvel of Biarritz. As I watch over the locals running errands in their day to day lives, they are unaware of how for us Aussies, this is like a surreal movie set rich in history and style.
