None of us wanted to get out of the bed and get on the road yesterday but we got up at 6am and were on the road by 7am. During that last day of driving we reached and surpassed 2,000 miles on the road and during our trip we have seen 9 different states (CA, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, GA, TN and NC). We arrived in Murphy, NC (my hometown) yesterday at 6:15pm and my Mom and Dad had dinner ready. That night we got to see all of the siblings, nieces, nephew and brother in laws, 14 total. Today we went to church and then enjoyed taking a look at some land in my sister Paige's new, yet pretty old, jeep. We took some great selfies, we got to see the kids take a first summer swim in Mom and Dad's pool and one tooth was pulled. A good day! A few more days getting ourselves together here and then we head to Atlanta to fly to Paris on Wednesday morning.
A few things we learned on our road trip:
-a lot of people don't wash their hands after they go to the restroom
-we have angels watching over us
-our dog is still an amazing traveler
-spitting is gross, but a lot of people still do it
-majority of drivers don't understand the passing lane
-our country is amazingly beautiful and people are kind
