Just in case you didn't get the picture...here's quick breakdown of the Liverpool game - good job it didn't go into extra time!
1 min: PSV get the game under way here in a packed Philips Stadium. 2 mins: Jefferson Farfan is flagged for offside as PSV look to threaten early on. 3 mins: Jamie Carragher skews his attempted clearance allowing Mika Vayrynen to pick up the ball and set PSV on the attack. 4 mins: Vayrynen picks up the ball again and goes for goal from 25 yards out. His shot flies just over the bar but it has been a good start by PSV. 5 mins: Daniel Agger looks for Peter Crouch with a high ball but Manuel Da Costa edges the striker out and the ball bounces all the way through to home keeper Heurelho Gomes. 6 mins: Steven Gerrard tries to flick the ball on towards Fabio Aurelio but he only succeeds in finding goalkeeper Gomes. 7 mins: Liverpool are beginning to impose themselves on this game now but Dirk Kuyt's knock on for Riise gifts possession back to the hosts. 8 mins: Carlos Salcido wins the ball for PSV but his pass for Jason Culina is poor and Steve Finnan picks up for Liverpool. 9 mins: Crouch receives the ball 25 yards out from goal and controls on his chest but the offside flag is up on the far side. 10 mins: PSV seem happy to let Liverpool keep the ball - they have set up like an away side here. 11 mins: Carragher tries to feed Kuyt but fails to find the Dutchman and PSV have possession back. 12 mins: Farfan is flagged for offside again from Phillip Cocu's chipped ball. 13 mins: PSV keep the ball well before Salcido gives it away cheaply when well forward on the right-hand side. 14 mins: Vayrynen wins the ball in front of Carragher but his header travels comfortably through to Jose Reina in the visiting goal. 15 mins: Liverpool win their first corner which will be taken by Gerrard. 16 mins: Liverpool go so close to taking the lead through Carragher. He wins the ball at the back post from Gerrard's corner and powers the ball towards goal only to be denied by the brilliant reflexes of Gomes. 17 mins: The small band of visiting fans are in full voice now - they are clearly encouraged by what they are seeing here from their side. 18 mins: Agger's long ball in cut out by Diego Tardelli and allows PSV to break but they fail to make the most of the opportunity and Liverpool gain possession of the ball. 19 mins: Salcido tries an ambitious effort from 25 yards out on the left-hand side but his shot is not troubling Reina who lets it drift past his right-hand post. 20 mins: The home side don't look like they are capable of breaking the Liverpool defence down as they are not getting men forward in numbers. At the moment, Liverpool are looking more likely to score. 22 mins: Jan Kromkamp delivers a superb cross from the right and this time PSV do have bodies in the box. The ball drops to Vayrynen at the back post and his volley looks net-bound until the ball comes off Carragher's foot and loops over the bar. 23 mins: From the resulting corner, Cocu heads wide from ten yards out but it has lifted the 35,000 or so home fans. 24 mins: Kuyt tries to charge through the PSV defence but Da Costa denies him with a good challenge. 25 mins: Riise looks for Crouch with a long diagnal ball but Timmy Simmons rises above him to clear the danger. So far, Crouch has had little joy up front. 27 mins: GOAL - GERRARD. Liverpool have a crucial away goal and it is no surprise it has come from the inspirational captain. Finnan gets forward on the right and delivers a superb cross into the middle. Gerrard almost pushes Kuyt out of the way to get on the end of it and guides the ball brilliantly into the corner of Gomes' net28 mins: The game should be interesting now as PSV will surely have to adopt a more attacking formation now. 29 mins: Cocu launches the ball forward for Farfan but his knock-on runs all the way through to Reina. 30 mins: Crouch is penalised for a foul on Da Costa as his frustrating night continues. 31 mins: Da Costa tries to find Vayrynen with a long and hopeful ball but Finnan gets in front of the Finn and guides the ball out of play for a goal-kick. 32 mins: Tardelli goes down under a sliding challenge from Mascherano and PSV have the chance to deliver the ball into the box from deep. 33 mins: Cocu's ball is nodded out of play by Carragher for a home corner which Cocu then hits too long much to the frustration of the majority of the fans. 34 mins: PSV keep the ball well in midfield but their final ball is really poor, this time from Cocu. 35 mins: Farfan can't get on the end of Culina's pass and Liverpool have a throw-in. 36 mins: Farfan and Agger chase a long ball before Reina is forced to come out of his goal and punch the ball clear. 37 mins: Mascherano is the first player to be booked for a challenge from behind on Tardelli. 38 mins: Farfan shoots from 30 yards out from the resulting free-kick but it is a tame effort and comes back off the Liverpool wall. 39 mins: Liverpool then break but Xabi Alonso gives the ball away as he looks to find Kuyt. 40 mins: Crouch wins Kuyt's ball at the back post but his knock down is unable to reach the advanced Riise. 41 mins: Vayrynen tees the ball up for Edison Mendez who goes for goal from 25 yards but he slices the ball well wide. Reina is furious at the space he was afforded by the Liverpool defence. 42 mins: Tardelli fouls Agger as another PSV move breaks down. 43 mins: Farfan looks to have been fouled by Carragher and as he is on the ground he picks up the ball ready to take a free-kick but the referee points the other way and penalises the forward for handball. 45 mins: The half-time whistle goes and Liverpool have a deserved lead at the break. PSV have offered very little going forward and appear unable to break the visiting defence down. Liverpool are in complete control at the break and if they were to push forward a little more, they could finish this tie off in the second-half.HT: PSV 0 LIVERPOOL 146 mins: PSV have suffered a half-time blow because Farfan has not reappeared and has been replaced by Sin Xian. 47 mins: Liverpool should be 2-0 up. Gomes comes out of his goal to punch a cross clear but it falls to Alonso who mis***s his half-volley. The ball then breaks back to the Spaniard for a left-footed drive but he shoots wide. 48 mins: The home side are all over the place at the moment as Da Cost almost gifts the ball straight to Kuyt on the edge of the box. 49 mins: GOAL - RIISE. This tie should be all over now and PSV have only themselves to blame. Simmons gifts the ball to Riise 30 yards from goal and the full-back lashes the ball into the corner of the net past the despairing dive of Gomes. A stunning strike from a man who doesn't seem to score a bad goal. 50 mins: Patrick Kluivert comes on for PSV to replace Mendez. 52 mins: Da Costa almost turns the ball into his own net as he stretches for a long ball but Gomes saves it well. 53 mins: Alonso can't find Gerrard with a crossfield ball and PSV have a goal-kick. 54 mins: Crouch wins the ball in the air from Simmons but his header harmlessly rolls through to Gomes. 56 mins: Kuyt's touch looking for Crouch is cut out by Da Costa. 57 mins: Kluivert thinks he is in behind the Liverpool defence but the assistant referee has his flag up for offside. 58 mins: Kromkamp makes a good run down the right but Cocu's pass towards him is overhit. 59 mins: Alonso tries an audacious long range shot with Gomes out of his goal and misses only by a few inches. 60 mins: Culina crosses from deep but Kluivert is not alert enough and the ball drifts out of play. 61 mins: Vayrynen's long ball is poor and flies out for a goal-kick. PSV look like they want the full-time whistle. 63 mins: GOAL - CROUCH. Finnan sets up another goal with an excellent cross into the box and finds Crouch who rises highest to head the ball powerfully into the back of the net. Liverpool are surely in the semi-finals now. 64 mins: Kluivert is booked for a late foul on Mascherano. 65 mins: Boudewijn Zenden comes on for Riise. 66 mins: Culina gets in behind the Liverpool defence but his cross is poor and the chance is wasted. PSV had men in the box had the delivery been better. 67 mins: PSV make their final change of the night with Kromkamp replaced by Csaba Feher. 68 mins: Feher's first contribution is to force Reina to get a hand on his hard cross from which the ball falls to Tardelli who blasts well wide of goal. 69 mins: PSV are showing some ambition now but it is surely a case of too little, too late. 70 mins: Kuyt's control lets him down and the ball floats into the arms of Gomes. 71 mins: Feher is booked for a foul on Kuyt. 72 mins: Aurelio goes to ground with no-one near him and he looks in real pain. He has clearly pulled a muscle and will not be able to continue. 73 mins: The stretcher is on and Aurelio is taken off and he is real pain, it looks like a serious injury. 74 mins: Eventually, Aurelio leaves the field on the stretcher and Mark Gonzalez takes his place. 75 mins: Kuyt almost finds Gerrard with a chipped throughball but it is slightly overhit. 76 mins: Gonzalez uses his pace to get free on the left and deliver a good cross but Da Costa defends it well in the air. 77 mins: Gonzalez spots Gomes off his line and tries to lift the ball over him from 25 yards out but his effort drifts just wide. 79 mins: PSV have completely lost their shape and you wouldn't bet against Liverpool scoring a fourth goal here. 80 mins: Gonzalez wins a free-kick beside the corner flag after a clumsy foul by Da Costa. 81 mins: Alonso's free-kick is well dealt with by Gomes who punches the ball clear. 82 mins: The flag stays down against Gonozalez and he wins another corner. 84 mins: Liverpool make another change with Jermaine Pennant replacing Crouch. 85 mins: Tardelli's cross is easily gathered by Reina. 86 mins: Gonzalez blasts over the bar from 25 yards out as Liverpool come forward again. The PSV heads have completely dropped. 87 mins: Feher shoots from a narrow angle when a cross would have been the better option. Reina does well to hold the ball at his near post. 89 mins: Liverpool are content to play out time here as they keep the ball really well in midfield. 90 mins: There will be three minutes of added time. 90 + 1 mins: Kuyt is yellow carded for dissent and will miss the return leg. 90 + 3 mins: It's all over here in Eindhoven and Liverpool have all but sealed their place in the semi-final of the Champions League. PSV were really poor and Liverpool could easily have won by more goals here. Rafa Benitez will have the luxury of resting players in the second leg at Anfield and can begin preparing for a semi-final showdown with Chelsea or his former club Valencia.
Enjoy

Hi Stu
I know how hard it can be not knowing the local lingo, so here's a few words for you to keep you going English (Lao in brackets)
yes (chao), no (baw), hello (sabaai-dii), how are you? (sabaai-dii baw?), thank you (khawp jai), never mind/you're welcome (baw pen nyang), how much? (thao dai?), water (naam), tea (saa), coffee (kaa-feh), rice (khao)
Oh yes and from recollection I think the word for prostitute is Guipoi pronounced Guy-pw-a

Big Stu Sorry I’ve not been in touch sooner, been really busy of late and been travelling quite a bit myself. Last week for example, I had to fly to Cape Canaveral, NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Centre. Got a call saying they needed me to install a new truss segment, retract a set of solar arrays and unfold a new set on the starboard side of the space shuttle, critical to its next mission apparently? Well, would you believe it, my flight was then hijacked by a group of albino dwarfs, nasty little bleeders they overwhelmed the pilot and it was left to yours truly to step up and deal with the situation. After disarming all 24 of the little b*****ds, I managed to take control of the plane, pull it out of a death spin and somehow manage to land it safely - I had to make an emergency landing - unfortunately the GPS was broken and I ended up behind enemy lines somewhere in Iraq? There were only 2 other survivors, and both had lost their legs during the landing, so I had to piggy back them both 130km over rough terrain, with no shoes on! Anyway to cut a long story short I eventually made it to the space station and suffice to say the mission to Mars went ahead as planned. After all that it turned out to be just a faulty spark plug on one the boosters? Then would you believe it, on the flight back I get a call from Hereford, can I train some new recruits for the SAS? Well, still a bit tired from the space mission I was reluctant at first, but agreed anyway. I parachuted into Hereford on the way back from NASA and promptly trained the lads in hand-to-hand combat and jungle warfare. Unfortunately I didn’t get time to show them the interrogation techniques I'd learnt in Nam (a personal favourite of mine) as I had to be back for 4.30pm, to have the kids – Angie was going out shopping with Posh spice and needed the credit card! If that wasn’t enough I’d promised David (Beckham) that I’d look after Brooklyn for a couple hours, while he painted the kitchen.
So you can see I've been busy, that was just Monday, will let you know how I get on next week – might start my own blog.
P.S. The spam idea is awesome, see if you can a photo of a samurai warrior doing a handstand whilst holding a tin of spam? Oh and while he’s doing that, pinch his sword and post it to me, love knives and swords
Got to go now, Tony’s on the phone, probably wants me to brief the SAS on the Iran situation? No rest the wicked mate - Safe travelling
