Once arriving in the mountain town we were shocked to find out it was absolutely bloody freezing! The next day we woke up at 4am to get the 5am boat back to the mainland where we got a bus across to Merida. We decided as we were going back to our backpacker ways to take this bull by the horns, as they say, and do two towns without booking a hostel through night buses!
