Alrighty Guys (as they all seem to say over here!)
Hiii, well we've had another week in the south island of NZ, and well, it's blooming freezing! It's been jeans, jumpers, hats, scarves and gloves for the past few days - feels like we're back home! In Nelson we went for a walk to the "centre point of new zealand" which was basically a white stick on top of a hill!! Nice little town though...and bundled on through a few other small towns which are all nice.
In Franz Josef we decided to climb a glacier..as you do! We donned our boots, eskimo suits, hats and ice talonz and made our way up the glacier. The guide had to cut the steps out for the group as we went along, with his pick-axe! It was amazing...we went through ice caves, under dripping ice ceilings (if that's a phrase?!) and through icy cold plunge pools. The ice was bright blue at some points and we have some fab photos (we'll show u wen we get back!). We also went on a midnight walk through the rain forest with a huge group from our hostel to see glow worms! They basically looked like green fairy lights but were kind of cute!?
We journied on to Queenstown which basically drains everyones money! It was very nice but we quickly moved on hehe, went to Dunedin then where we saw a statue of Kims "apparent great great millionth times removed grandfather" Robert Burns! She never shuts up about that guy!!
Yesterday we arrived in Kaikoura, excited at the prospect of swimming with dolphins! How amazing! We got on the boat, fully equipped in our oh-so-attractive and flattering wetsuits and snorkel gear and set off. Typical, Megs got very seasick...lovely. Everyone jumped in the icy cold water only for the captain to sound the alarm saying the dolphins had swum away...this happened a few times before the crew gave up and said "sorry, the dolphins are just swimming away - you'll be refunded though" GUTTED! There everyone was freezing there asses off and Megs feeling sea sick, all for zero dolphins!! Although Kim claims she saw a fin (blatently seaweed!)
On a more positive note, we are going to see the All Blacks vs France on Saturday! Whoooooo! Can't wait! We are loving New Zealand and are having such a great time. Hope everyone is ok and well back home, bet the weathers better where u are!
lots of love and hugs
