Our 22nd Wedding Anniversary
We arrived at the World of Wedgwood early for our visit so went for a walk in the woodland (Hem Heath Wood) on their massive estate. The bluebells were putting in an amazing show for us as we had a stroll around.
We were taken into the Tea Emporium for a welcome cup of tea/coffee and biscuits while we waited for our tour of the factory.
The tour took around an hour and we got the opportunity to see some of the craftsmen at work while the tools and equipment was explained to us. We also saw part of the dinner service for the Sultan of Oman being made. One dinner plate alone was £1000.
Next we made our own pots on a potters wheel with quite a lot of help. Once fired they'll be sent to us at home, along with the little dishes we designed decals for.
Lunch was included in our visit and it was quite nice to be served everything on Wedgewood china!
We went from Wedgwood to Monkey Forest which is home to a troop of Barbary apes. They live completely outdoors, nesting in the trees and avoiding the paths that the humans follow.
We went to look for somewhere for dinner but after driving around for about an hour we ended up back at the Toby Carvery next door to our hotel
