Today's word in the Rethink Church Lenten Photo Challenge is "Return." There's a song by Ezra Ruckus that I absolutely love called "A Love Message." I've been listening to it all week and since today is also Valentine's Day, I thought I would put some lyrics down from some of my favorite songs. "A Love Message" is all about a song from God to us. I also thought about Hosea 6 which is about returning to the Lord. Shane & Shane have a song on their Psalms album based on this passage, and it's one I think of a lot when going through painful times with churches. It's also a passage I will be looking at this semester with my mentor. Here are the words to Ezra Ruckus' song:
"His song is love, love till is His love is shown
And it goes round and round daily. I don't have to be alone.
My heavy heart is made of stone
And it's been harder to see you clearly but His love is melting stone.
And He's not gonna take it back
And He's not gonna say 'I don't mean that'
You're the target that he's aiming at.
He will get his message home.
His song is love, His song is love unknown
And He's on fire for you clearly. He won't leave you all alone.
But your heavy heart is made of stone
And if it's hard to see clearly, Jesus' love will melt the stone.
And He's not gonna stand and wait
He's not gonna leave you until it's much too late.
On a platform, I'm gonna stand and say that I'm nothing on my own.
His song is love, is love unknown, and I've got to get that message home."
