We thought we better refill our water supply in Coober Pedy, we paid 20 cents for around 40L's of water at the caravan park and there was also s public area in town with coin operated water.
While Mick refilled the air in the tyres the girls and I explored a local jeweler and found a few nice pieces.
We then tried our hand at noodling through the local opal fields and Rose had a good score with a decent sized rock. We found o few more little pieces before deciding it was time to head back to town.
A stop at Josephine's Art gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage where we met a Alice Springs artist Tommy Crow who was just finishing off a gorgeous painting that we really liked but I couldn't decide where I would hang it due to its size. We had a good chat to him and I finally decided on a dark navy image in his Sunset dreaming series.
More people started to arrive for the midday Kangaroo feeding and he decided to give an impromptu didge session while he waited for his paint to dry.
Terry was looking after the Kangaroos while Josephine drove some down to Adelaide to foster out to new homes. We got to meet Bella, Minma, Shauni and a baby Sophie who was two months old and had a bottle.
Afterwards we headed to the roadhouse to grab some lunch before hitting the road again. We made Marla well before dark so pushed on to a rest stop just south of the border, Maryatt Creek. It was a clear night and we watched a sunset that looked just like the one in our new painting, and had the full moon rising on the other side.
