We packed up from Alice, fueled up at the caravan park - $1.29 / L - cheapest so far, and headed South. Weather reports indicate a cold snap across SA so we really wanted to continue North instead.
Around 90km from Alice was a roadhouse at Stuart's Well with a camel farm next door. They had emus, Kangaroos camels and alpacas. It was only $7 to ride a camel around the enclosure so the girls got to ride Merindi who was 24, and Landi who was 20.
Not far from here along the turn off for Ernest Giles Road, we checked out the Henbury meteorite site. This was where a large meteorite landed creating several craters in the area.
After this it was back on the highway and crossed the border back into SA. A fuel stop at Marla then a free camp at a rest stop called 'Erica's Camp' where we were the only ones parked up.
We soon had a fire lit, a stew on the campover (to use up all the veges we needed to get rid off) and were relaxing under another perfect milky way sky.
