We drove from San Diego to Palm Springs on Sunday. Long drive through the desert - it wasn't flat like in Australia. There were lots of mountains. Palm Springs was hot and dry, but lots of Palm trees every where. will said that's why it called Palm Springs.
We then drove another 4 hours through the desert to Las Vegas. We arrived about 6pm just as the lights were coming on. Scotty had to drive through the Strip to our hotel- which wasn't easy!
The Flamingo is very very pink! We got upgraded to the ultra deluxe room looking over the pools on the 27th floor. We went walking down the strip that night and into some Casinos. Will commented that everyone was smoking everywhere- pretty yucky! We went to Hershey's world which was 3 stories of every type of Hershey's chocolate.
The next day we spent the morning by the pool, watching lots of people get sunburnt! Hardly anyone uses sunscreen here.
That night we went walking up and down the strip again after having a few margaritas (Jane) and beers (Scotty) and eating the biggest nachos ever- we didn't even make a sent in the plate. Both Phoebe and Will loved the It's Sugar shop- you could pick and choose your own lollies. We saw lots of people dressed up as characters and watched lots of street performers.
We left the next morning- the kids agreed that Las Vegas was fun but very very busy!
