We have survived the first week in the States.
After departing from Gatwick last Tuesday and flying in to Vegas we soon settled in to our first stop's 'backpackers' accommodation at the Luxor. (That should probably read flashpackers right?!) We waste little time before exploring the strip in search of fun, food and drink.
Day two was the day to hit the Grand Canyon (via Hoover Dam). With a 6.15am start (we were passing those getting in from their nights out on our way out) and a visit to the Starbucks en route to the pick up point we were ready to go. Our driver 'awesome Anthony' was full of lots of interesting facts (none of which I can remember now as those who know me well will appreciate the fact I was up super early!)
We take the chance to do the sky walk experience whilst there. This is a glass platform 4000ft above the Canyon.
The views are amazing and it is truly breathtaking at times being surrounded by such stunning scenery. My pictures really do not do it justice.
So when in Vegas ..... You have to attend a wedding right?!? It just so happened that I got to be a plus one at a vegas wedding thanks to Blinky. This wedding did not carry all the stereotypes associated with Vegas weddings. It was a beautiful ceremony and dare I say it it brought a tear to my eye!! The celebrations continued late in to the night and the gaming continued after that.
Vegas is known as the capital of entertainment and I could not think of a more entertaining evening activity than going to see Justin Timberlake at the MGM Grand. It was an awesome evening spent with my travel buds. A true showman for sure.
4 days in crazy Vegas and it is time for the mini road trip to begin.... Next stop Death Valley
