SARAHS' MONKEY MADNESS
Aloha from Hawaii! Well ive finally made it and i'm into the second hal of my trip! Everything has gone relatively well since San Francisco so no real funny stories to tell at all! I landed in hawaii on saturday and made it to my hostel which, i must say is perfect! I have stayed in better ones elsewear (i.e cleanliness wise!) but its everyting i need and so close to everything including the beach (2 minute walk to Waikiki beach! Flippin awesome!) Its slightly weird sharing with 8 boys and being on a top bunk again (which i hate!!) this one actually rocks back and forth if you move so not very safe!) Its a bed at the end of teh day so i'm not gonna complain! The first afternoon i spent at the beach (extremely hot!) but it kept raining which was odd seen as though the sun was out etc... i thought at first i was sat near sprinklers but i wasnt and it kept me cool at least! That evening we went down the beach to watch the sunset and they were showing a movie (What a girl wants!) on the beach! Everyone was picnicking, lying down, chilling, drinking etc... it was so nice! The film was a bit too chick flicky for me but it did the trick anyways! So afterwards we all went back to the hostel and played cards for a bit and i went to bed! Perfect day! The next day i went to pearl harbour to vist the USS Arizona! The trip was free so it was a perfect time to get to know everyone! Pearl harbour was beutiful. Its hard to imagine what went on there! It was really intersting and i learnt a lot that i didnt know so quite informative! Unfortunately due to high sea levels the memorial over the Arizona didnt show much which was disapointing but it was nice all the same to just reflect and take it all in! Afterwards i went down the beach again and burnt my back! Ooops! and caught my plane to teh big island where i am now! Woopie! However, it rains a lot here! Not suprising since it has 11 of the worls 14 ecosystems here on the island! Ive only come down here for the volcano so it a short stay of three days before moving onto the next island! I'm going up Mauna Kea tonight for sunset (this is teh worlds highest mountain or something! well it goes under the sea too! We go up 14,726 ft to the summit and watch the sunset! Star gaze at the worlds largest observatory etc... so i will let you all know how it is! Tommorow i'm doinga hike up teh worlds most active volcano so that should eb a fun 12 mile trek! haha! Its fine though cos i'm prepaired! I will update again when i have more news and hopefully something funny to tell you! Oh i know! This island is bery remote so teh only way to get around without a car is a bike! These are like old fashioned bikes the ones you see in the 40's or something! I hired one today and explored! It teamed it down on the way back so i got soaked but it wa swell worth it cos i got a turkey sandwich with gravy, mash and veg! Delightful! It was actually a thankgiving dinner so i feel great now! I miss my veggies like crazy!
Speak to you all soon! Miss u all!
Over and out and mahola xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
