Beylerbeyi Palace
The Balyan family, Armenian citizens of the Ottoman Empire, were the palace architects for several generations. Educated in France, they pioneered a new era in Ottoman architecture by combining Baroque and Neo-Classical elements. This unique architectural style is exemplified in Beylerbeyi Palace, a magnificent fusion of Eastern and Western influences. eylerbeyi Palace (Beylerbeyi Sarayı), the main structure of the community of buildings, is a two-storey and massive building on a high basement. There are 6 halls, 24 rooms, 1 bath and 1 bathroom on both floors. Abdulhamid II spent the last 6 years of his life in this palace and closed his eyes on this palace on February 10, 1918.
