Rhodes. The ancient city. OK, today was planned as a day of R&R, but... Wanda and I are headed over to be tourists. How many times have I said the word beautiful? But it is. Melia is asleep and wants to remain that way. This is where the one of the seven ancient wonders, the giant Colossus statue was located. We saw where the Temple of Diana had been in Ephesus yesterday. Italy was wonderful, but Greece is beyond. Melia thinks so as well.

We had dinner at this restaurant on the beach. Great and dirt cheap.

This is recognized by the Catholic Church as the last home of the Virgin Mother, Mary. Absolutely moving. A beautiful setting. Following this we visited Ephesus, where only 13% of the ruins has been excavated. It was tremendous with marble streets, buildings and reliefs. The city had a library, second only to Alexandria in the ancient world.

We are on the continent of Asia. Barely, but we are. A reenactment of a procession with Mark Anthony and Cleopatra was presented at Ephesus.
