Well it?s that time again for us to bring you to speed with the goings on across the globe! So with out further a do may I present the Mitchell?s on Tour Australian Edition!
Â
Yes we have finally said good bye to New Zealand, it was emotional but a fantastic time was had, now time to move on and fly a short distance across the waters to HMP Australia:0) Home of Neighbours, Home and Away, Budgie Smugglers (Speedos to you and me) and stubby coolers.
Â
We landed in Sydney and with a 4 hours wait before our connecting flight to Brisbane we thought plenty of time to get some lunch and get to the domestic terminal, which was before it took us 2 ½ hours to get through customs! After having our passports checked about 10 times our bags scanned twice, we were beginning to wonder if we should have declared something as that que was a lot shorter than the one we had to wait in! They could have cleaned our boots again.
Â
Finally through customs and baggage check we rushed through to the domestic terminal to check in and just time to grab a coffee we were back in the air and on are way to meet Marg in Brisbane. Not as traumatic as Sydney we landed and were sat out side the terminal in 20 mins. Marg?s brother Tony was there to pick us up and drive us to meet Marg. For those of you don?t know marg she is a crazy Aus lady who is an absolute scream and the salt of the earth, and due to the big family wedding that was taking place that weekend, all Marg?s family were making there way to Ipswich near Brisbane! And Marg?s got a pretty big family so the Newtons were out in full force and a good handful was there to greet us on our arrival.
Â
So hello?s and intro?s over we headed up to Marg?s brother?s farm were we are staying. It?s wonderful out here the plains as far as the eye can see, unfortunately very dry ones as Aus is experiencing the worst drought in it?s history. They recycle every drop that they can it?s very impressive to see and makes you realise just how much water we waste and what we could recycle. Eco lesson over for today. With the impending wedding we thought we?d leave the family to it and head of to the sunshine Coast for the weekend, Marg lent us her car and tent and off we went. Cheers Marg

We had a great weekend getting in to the chilled laid back Oz way of life lounging on golden beaches, walking through Noosa National park on the look out for Koala?s, no look at the national park but a trip to Australia Zoo proved more successful. The home of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Erwin and his family, this guy has created a the best Zoo we have ever been in, we felt like children again running around checking the out everything from Snakes, tigers to Crocs and elephants, we waited in line with the kids to feed the Elephants got close to koala?s and chilled on the grass with the Kangaroo?s. We then sat back and enjoyed the show in the crocoseum! Watching as a 10ft croc leapt out of the water and showed us its teeth and just how strong these fella?s are. It was a great day and Steve Erwin (God rest his sole) as done amazing here the animals aren?t caged up like most zoo?s and you can get real close to most, don?t get me wrong the tigers were behind glass but to see Rick chilling on the grass amongst the roo?s was highly amusing although I?m sure one of them was thinking of taking him on!
Â
So that just about brings us up to date we are now back at Marg?s and here till the 1st then of to Sydney for a few days and then we fly to Bangkok for the start of our South East Asia adventure, we can?t wait. It?s been strange being back in the westernized world and are looking forward to getting back to basics, I?m not sure how long that will last but we?ll see, back to squatting toilets and tummy upsets here we come!

P.S no pics at the moment a few technical glitches so you will just have to wait for the first lot of South East Asia.
