We have just spent the last 10 days in Mumbai and have done our best to see the sights.
We went on a city tour which took us to the open air laundry, a Jain temple, the Hanging gardens and the towers of silence.
We also visited the Gateway to India several times and it was from there we took a boat across to Elephanta Island to see the Hindu caves there with all their carvings. The monkeys there are tenacious beasts and one male went for our guide, so she threw her water bottle down, he immediately grabbed it and took it to a nearby wall where he proceeded to open it and drink.
We also had a trip to Bollywood, which was very interesting and followed on to a recording studio where the music for the Slumdog movie was produced.
We enjoyed another trip to yet more caves, this time Buddhist in Kahneri. These caves are in a park and so we also got to see some lions and tigers there. There are also leopards around the park and it is advised that the people living there do not go out after 6pm as the leopards have been known to attack.
We have also visited a couple of museums and art galleries. Now we have almost run out of places to we have visited a few shopping malls, partly so we can get some exercise away from the heat.
Tomorrow we move on to Cairo.
