Just back from a motorbike ride into North Wales... What a fantastic time! I had forgotten just how lush, green and achingly pretty this part of Britain is. Rolling hills, stone farm walls, oak trees as far as the eye can see, quaint stone cottages... and all the road signs in Welsh and English. If you see Dim Parc, then don't park!
We stopped at the 13th Century town of Ruthin (pron. "Rithin") which was in full swing with its annual summer festival. Perfect weather, over 20 degrees and blue skies. The town square was packed and bands played on a makeshift stage, while the pubs did a roaring trade.
In Ruthin's heyday as a drovers' town it was reputed to have a pub for every week of the year. Now apparently there are only 11, but that's not bad since the population is only just over 5000 (and all of them seemed to be in the square...)
Anyway, with so much to look at there was only one way to ride through this little piece of paradise Boyo, and that was Araf (Slow)!
