Our first US port of call, so it's the dreaded US Immigration. They call people by deck number, but the six of us had arranged to meet at 9:00 in Raffles. I was up early and called Barbara and we went down early. Even then the queue stretched from Carmen's at the rear, along the whole length of the ship to the Curzon Theatre at the front.
As we were queuing, Rob and Linda and then Phil and Yvonne passed us. B & I completed our procedure by 9:00 and tried first, The Glasshouse (closed for the morning), then Medina (closes at 9:00 on port days) and finally Horizon for breakfast. We were waiting in Raffles at 9:30, for the others. Originally the intention was to meet at 9:00, but we knew the others would be well after that. They had turned up a minute or so earlier and so left without us. We finally left at 10:30, not happy bunnies. Still at least we now know we can go at the appointed time, even if the others don't turn up on time. Yvonne called while I was getting ready for dinner to apologise for the c*** up'.
We took the shuttle to the local shopping mall and spent some time there. We went first to the Apple Store, where Barb bought a phone for her neighbour and I updated all my apps and IOS. Then we shopped for a while and then took a cab to the Hard Rock for lunch and a couple of strawberry mojitos.
A walk along Waikiki Beach and a look
at the farmers market by the Hyatt Regency and then we took a cab back to the ship. We were back on board about 16:30.
Went to see Will Martin in Curzon Theatre. He had laryngitis so the show was quite short and the second show was cancelled. Yvonne went to bed and the rest of us did the Syndicate Quiz. Started well, dipped in the middle and then won our 38th bottle of wine. Despite the poor start a good port day.
