Hola amigos! We are now in Antigua, Guatemala. Its such an amzing place. It used to be the capital of Guatemala until 1773 but then an enourmous earthquake destroyed most of its buildings, and rather than rebuild, Guatemalans decided instead to simply move thier capital city about 20 miles north. (updated) The original plan, in order to get us to Guatemala by the cheapest route possible, was to get a connecting flight from LA to North Carolina, and then onwards to Guatemala. This should only have taken around 8 hours and saved us over 200 dollars, so we thought the inconvenience was worth it.
