So we reached the holy land of byron bay and almost straight away we loved it, its a mad place with so many different types of people, young backpackers, old hippies, musicians on every corner and even some drunk funny old bloke walking around with a bloody peruvian alpacca on a lead walking it like it was a dog instead of a small camel. This time of year humpback whales migrate up the coast so we walked up to the lighthouse which is the best viewing spot to see if we could find any, at first they were hard to spot but when u got into it u could start to see them everywhere blowing spray out and then some would come closer and jump out it was amazing to see them so close along with hundreds of dolphins and turtles and stingrays, we just couldnt beleive it. After our day out spotting the whales i decided it would be nice for us to buy some booze and sit on the beach to watch the sunset, it was a bad idea! I ended up downing a bottle of wine out the bottle on the beach then got progressively worse as the night wore on by the ended of the night i was pickled and erin had to half carry me back to the hostel, nightmare! Next day didnt start well for me i woke up with the worst hangover of my life and just about managed to make it to the bathroom to puke up evrywhere, im never sick either so i must of been really bad the night before, and erin thought it was great because for once it was not her feeling rough with her head in the toilet so i didnt get any sympathy off her all day, that day was sort of ruined by my illness but we still managed to get out and see the whales again which pulled me back into the land of the living, it was to be an early night for us though and off to coffs harbour the next day.
