Andy and Matt's Great Escape.
Long time no write,
A lot has gone on since we last left a postcard as you may have seen from the photos we added, this is our final day in LA so we thought we should write something before we get to Fiji, especially as we're not sure how often we'll get on the internet over there.
Our LA adventure began at a hostel on Venice Beach where we spent 2 days taking in the sun and picked up the classic British sunburn, this is the point we know our travels had well and truely begun. Our next move led us to Hollywood Boulivard, which is where I'm writing to you from now. We've visited the Chinese Mann Theatre to see the handprints, seen the stars that cover the 'sidewalks' and today we took quite a hike up towards the Hollywood sign to get a good view, photos to follow. For me the highlight of the last week has been our 3 day coach tour to see the Grand Canyon, staying in a hotel in Las Vegas for the 2 nights. Vegas is so much fun, and even though we couldn't gamble there was still enough for us to see and do. The Grand Canyon was... well rather grand really, the person who named it certainly got it right. We add pictures of this as well but photos don't really do it justice. The tour did have its down sides however like the 5am wake up call before we went to the Grand Canyon, the numerous pointless stops at shopping outlets and the fact that everyone was Chinese. The tour guide felt it necessary to talk all the time we were on the coach making it hard to sleep, especially as he had to translate everything into Manderin, which as I found out isn't the most relaxing of languages to listen to at 6 in the morning. Matt and I spent most of our time plotting our revenge and the easiest way of hiding his microphone but once we found out his name was Sue (possible not spelt like this) and not Dong or Choi as we had first suspected we thought that his parents had handed out sufficient revenge. The hostel we're at right now is in my opinion the best we've been, everyone is friendly and we've got to know a few people.
We're off to Fiji tonight on an 11 hour flight, so the movies better be good especially as I've already finished my book.
Hope you all have a good Sunday because for us it doesn't exist for us as well travel over the time lines.
I apoligise for spelling mistakes and missing words, I didn't get a chance to look through it.
