Cowbells!
Various groups of revellers had by now assembled in the main square, and were starting to get in order for the procession, which starts around dusk (about 9pm). The idea seemed to be to make as much noise as possible. take a look at the headgear! This procession was due to end at the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) at about 11pm to hear the reading of the Last Will a and Testament of the Sardine. The following day, Saturday, would be the biggest procession, culminating in the burning of the Sardine (a giant papiermache effigy) and fireworks. Usually these effigies bear a striking resemblance to one or other of the politicians in the news.
