Today we took the ferry to Watson Bay. A pretty little fishing village with a big park, historic buildings and a large gull population, all with a penchant for fish and chips and expert at divebombing the tourists.
Dressed for yesterday's weather, we were a bit warm until the rain started in the afternoon, then we were smug in trainers and waterproofs. Returned to town in time to see the museum and browse the market stalls, many of which sold kangaroo parts repurposed as back scratchers, keyrings and bottle openers. Ugh!
Tomorrow, early, we fly to Brisbane to meet up with a friend we haven't seen in maybe 35 years. Cyclone Oma has been lurking off the Brisbane coast but seems to be dissipating so hopefully our flight will be smooth. We'll be flying to on to Cairns in the evening, where we hoped to snorkel the reef but think that will be cancelled due to previous floods and current cyclones.
