Rainy morning. Public bus to train station. 1 hour coach (Y6). Met Swedish couple just arrived from Nepal. 3 pits. Visited in reverse order. Bulk western tourists. 1.5hr bus back to Xian. Search for place to exchange broken headphones (no luck). Bought gloves. Street food dinner.

Arrived from Da Tong on overnight train at 8am. Checked into hostel. Hot shower! Planned next move and dates. Booked train to Chengdu for thurs 25 night. Got camera mount made by cobbler. Booked train to Longmen Caves. Street food dinner ($2 for chicken? kebab, tofu and potato). Early night.

Taxi to bus port. 2hr coach to small town. 20min taxi to hanging monastry. Met students (German guy going to study at curtain next year). Back to Datong for 4pm to catch overnight train to Xi'an.

Early start. Rush to make train on metro. Hard seat all day train. Arrived Datong at 5pm. Hotel recommended by Lonely Planet being demolished. Met Swiss travelers and found hotel near station. First time not in a dorm since Vietnam. Found ATM and got food for next days trip. Whole city is under construction!
