Hi everyone,
Soon Katie and me will be off on our travels around the world VERY EXCITED.
It feels like it has been a long time coming we have read all the lonely planets, looked at a lot of travel blogs, Katie has made several spreadsheets all very pretty + colour coded (good job or I would have no idea where I'm going). And me well I booked a camper van and looked at how expensive it is to jump off things :)
We will be starting off with a quick trip over to Toronto to visit my Uncle and see the sights of Canada in early Feb before coming back to the UK for a few days to change over bags from cold gear to hot and have a cheeky leaving do, everyone is welcome, then we jet off to Australia with Sydney the first stop. We will then Travel up and down the east coast of Australia with our campervan hopefully with a lot of sunshine and do all the tourist things such as Frazer Island and visit Koala bears (Definitely going to try to steal one). After spending a few weeks here we are then flying over to New Zealand and travel from Christchurch in the South Island to Auckland in the North with a quick trip to Queenstown and Milford Sound in between.
After a month and a half of travelling around Australia and New Zealand we will then be flying up to Hong Kong via Kuala Lumpur to see Katie's Auntie for a week before heading back down to Malaysia. We will then travel around the peninsular and Singapore before flying over to Borneo where we will go diving. Once we have satisfied our appetite for activities we are flying over to Sumatra in Indonesia and become proper travellers as this is when transport will become interesting (I'm thinking hanging off the side of a mini bus) but very exciting. We plan on spending just over a week here before flying to Java Indonesia's biggest island where we will go climb some live volcanoes, even more exciting, before making our way to Bali. It wouldn't really be a trip Katie and me would be on if there wasn't a place that involved sun and alcohol and Bali is certainly that. Before we leave Indonesia we also hope to go visit the other Islands and see the Komodo Dragons (definitely don't plan on stealing one of them).
We then will be visiting Vietnam. The plan is to travel from the south to the north visiting all the sites along the way. Hopefully we will be able to do some of this on motorbikes just like Top Gear, I have a feeling as much as I like to think of myself as Jeremy Clarkson, I will resemble more a Richard Hammond and struggle to make my leg reach the ground while on a bike. Halong Bay will be our last big tourist visit here before we finish with the last leg of the trip in Thailand. First stop Bangkok before Chiang Mai from some last trekking and then down to the islands for some much needed final sun sand and beers before the long journey back home.
