World Travelling with Mark And Lilly
Bastimento island is trully beautiful but my god, when it rains there, it rains a lot and for a long time....
on wednesday we hired a boat and were dropped in the village of bastimeto which is much more relaxed and traditional than the main island. We crossed the whole island to go to Wizzard beach and the path was so muddy that he took us nearly an hour, we were bitten by insects lots during the trek and soon discovered that as the wind had picked the waves were rubbish. never mind, we had a lovely day on the beach...
Thursday we went to Caranero and walked around. in the afternnon we had to sort our visa for Australia which was quite a nightmare. and on our last day friday we did a boat tour with another couple to go and see dolphins, snorkel and discover red frog beach on bastimento and snorkel at hospital point. The dolphin part was the most interesting as there were so many of them , also baby ones, jumping and swimming next to our boat... the snorkelling was not very interesting although there was different colours of corals, nothing breath taking....
the visibility in water at the reef was bad, I am pleased I did not intend to dive in bocas as I would have been very dissapointed. let's wait Indo for that.
We spent the week end in Costa Rica after crossing the border and being given a lift by an American Tico guy called John, he had the most comfortable and big car I have been in.... you will see the pictures soon. He drove so fast that what should take 1 hour 30 minutes in bus took less than 40 min... his truck did impress Mark. We stayed 2 days in Puerto Viejo, carabean coast of costa Rica. really charming with lots of great restaurants, bars, music places.... My belly was craving for vegetables, asian and varied food... it was such a nice change from the casado.... the typical dish we have eaten for 3 months...
The famous salsa Brava biggest wave of Costa was not working but we kept sporty by renting bikes and cycling 25 kilometers through the jungle along the coast... really nice except I broke the bike handle barr, so funny but not very practical....
well we are now in San jose waiting to catch our plane to California on tuesday... I am worried on how I will aprehend US !!!!
