13th of December was time to say goodbye to Iceland for a while. Kasper and I arrived to New York on evening and we had a reservation to one hostel for our first night. We wanted to try couch surfing because hostels are quite expensive in NYC. First night was the only night that we spend in hostel and rest of the nights we couch surfed. We stayed in East-Harlem for five days with very nice people. Then we moved to Brooklyn for two nights. On 21st of Dec we went to Boston for two nights and we also used couch surfing. After Boston we went again to Harlem and we stayed in the same place than earlier for the rest of our time in NYC.

We did lots of different things during our stay. We walked a lot every day and saw all the touristic things. We went to see Knicks vs Bobcats NBA game in Madison Square Garden and it was really nice experience. We also went to see Broadway show Hair. We got very good seats and we paid just 25 dollars. The show was amazing and actresses invited us to the stage after the show jamming with them and it was lots of fun. I really liked New York and I definitely want to go there again. It's a city that never sleeps.

My Christmas was different than past two of them. Now we had loads of snow and it really felt like Xmas. During the day I went with Kasper to cigar lounge and we had good cigars and port wine. There were many nice and friendly gentlemen and we were the only white ones there. Brazilian guy who was living in our house "borrowed" Xmas tree from street and we decorated it nicely. For dinner we had Brazilian barbeque with rice and delicious mushroom sauce. We also had secret Santa and every one of us got one present. I got baseball and soft toy. After Xmas we just chilled out and did some shopping. It was really nice to go to New York with Kasper and everything went really well.

I was supposed to take a plane to Mexico City on 28th of Dec at 6:30am. I didn't sleep at all and check-in started at 4am. When it was my turn they said that I'm not allowed to fly to Mexico. Problem was that I just got one-way ticket and when entering to Mexico you have to have some kind of proof that you are leaving the country at some point. I missed my flight and it was pain in the ass to get the proof and new ticked. Finally I got my paper ticket to proof that I'm flying from Costa Rica to New York and that was good enough to them. I also got new flight to Mexico City on 29th at the same time. I went back to Harlem and rested for few hours. Next day I finally got the plane and arrived to Mexico City. I was so tired but also very happy.
